Ever since we got our scarlet satiny (but cotton) bedding for our new bed back in Jan/Feb/whenever it was, I've been looking for blankets/throws to go with it for when we need extra warmth.

We had decided on black chenille throws, and had more or less decided I needed to settle for the Dunelm Mill £15 each ones (single bed size, because we have two separate single duvets) even though they probably wouldn't be that great quality.

And then I went into Asda for groceries and clothes today, and I just happened to glance down an aisle and saw chenille cushions, and found throws just below them. Gorgeously soft and snuggly, 35% cotton, and only £8 each! In fact, now I look at the receipt, I see that they were actually on a '2 for £12' offer, so in fact they were only £6 each!!!!

How fabulous is that? :-)

I was going to do a Happy Christmas post last night but then I lost the internet so I just went to bed instead. So here it is this morning. Hope everyone has a fantastic day, whatever you're celebrating!

(And hope you're healthier than my family, who are all coughing and sneezing, and that you slept better too, which isn't hard. There is a very strong probability of napping this afternoon!)

Anyway. Thank you to [info]donutsweeper, who made my morning with her Chrsitmas present - this icon. A happy Jack icon! I only realised the other day that I didn't have any! Yay!!!!! :-)

I've had a good night's sleep, the sun is shining, and I'm feeling good!

I also won't be around a hell of a lot today because Mum's got some friends coming over this afternoon who want to see us and Jack so we're going round for 'afternoon tea'. And then this evening Andy and I are going to the cinema to see Get Smart, mainly because Andy likes Anne Hathaway - I mean, I do too but not in the same way *g* - but also because it should be a good laugh. It starts at 6.50, though, (showing times are weird on Saturdays so they can get two relatively decent showings in the evening) so I should be home in time to be around for an hour or two before bedtime.

Anyway. Today's looking good. :-)

Oh, and bedtimes are definitely getting better. Thank you to everyone who finally pushed Andy and me into being a bit tougher with our little man! *g*

1. Had a really good day yesterday. Both Jack and I had had enough sleep for once, so we both a lot less stressed and a lot more relaxed and we had a really nice time together - and I finally stopped panicking about next week when Andy's away for ten days in Texas/Mexico.

2. Also been doing and reading some fabulous role-playing. Whoville has come alive again. And I've had some really interesting threads - Buffy/Romana (they really bonded), Jack/8 year-old Doctor (very interesting), Simm!Master/Delgado!Master (fascinating for both of them!), and now Spike/Ten.

3. Shame I'm back at work this afternoon and all day tomorrow and Friday. I've been really enjoying my RP! Still, I'm hoping to get on with Master Plan again, since I seem to actually have my brain back at last. :-)

4. At least I don't have to be at rehearsal till half an hour later than usual tonight, so I'll have a little bit more time for tagging before I go than I usually do.

5. Oh, also, yesterday Jack watched his first bit of Doctor Who. [info]_medley_ had sent me a link to a bit of "Mind of Evil" on YouTube (because we're playing Master/Master) and Jack was fascinated. He won't ever let us watch any of our stuff on the telly while he's around, but if it's on the computer, he's fascinated. He sat through about 15 minutes of the thing - which is interseting, because we can now tell him his first Doctor was Jon Pertwee... *g*

6. Any typos in this post are due to the fact I'm typing it with Jack on my lap doing drawing...

Cheerios up the nose notwithstanding, Jack has been amazing today. Yes, we're still having the odd battle of wills, and he's still deliberately spilling stuff on the floor, but he's also getting better at agreeing to clear it up again, and he's really good fun to have around.

He also went through the whole of today without a nappy on (except for nap-time) and made it through the whole day in one pair of pants and one pair of trousers without a single accident. I even took him out for an hour or so this afternoon without a nappy on, and he was fine!

And he only started potty training ten days ago! I am so proud of him!

1. I'm tired again. Stayed up too late role-playing, then kept getting disturbed by Andy snoring and Jack waking up and saying he couldn't find his cuddly book, then fifteen minutes later, when I was on the verge of getting back to sleep, wanting a nappy change... I am so sleeping on the sofa tonight. Andy can snore all he likes, and get up and look after Jack.

2. Amazingly, I seem to avoided the after-show cold, even though half my friendslist has it (get well soon, guys!). *crosses fingers*

3. Jack just stuck a twiglet in a fairy cake and pretended it was a candle to blow out. He's so cute!

4. I'm back to work this afternoon after having had nearly two weeks off. So anyone who wants to email me (e.g. those I'm role-playing with), I'll be on my work email (anna.funnell @ essex.gov.uk) from c. 12.00 to 5.00 today.

5. Huh. It's not often a post can be tagged both 'moaning' and 'happy posts'! *g*

According to Jack, jaffa cakes are 'daffodil cakes'. How cute is that? :-)

I have had a really nice morning.

Cut for length )

Oh, and I got my second draft of Master Plan off to beta before I went out, so progress is being made, even if rather slowly. :-)
