I think I've finally worked out what my problem is with Russell T Davies. It's his belief that drama is only drama if it's on a massive scale. He doesn't get that human drama, the drama of the people we're invested in can be just as epic.

Children of Earth thoughts from [info]hellenebright
[info]hellenebright has managed to put what I've been trying to say about CoE into much better words than I've managed: here.

I think I dreamt Avon/Jack slash last night. Unfortunately, I can't remember any of it, except Avon's grating, sarcastic voice in my head (though not the words it was saying).

And I watched (bits of) LotTL again yesterday and how weird is it that it wasn't until this viewing (which must be something like my sixth) that I noticed the big conference table wasn't there in the final scene. I get why, for shooting purposes - nice big space for Martha to walk up, the Master to run down etc. - but I'm curious as to why the Master would have had it removed. It's a pretty big table to get rid of. I don't think it would have fitting through the door and down the corridor!

I've made several comments recently about the fact that Russell T Davies should get himself a canon-checker (or beta reader, as they are sometimes known *g*).

I've got the Doctor (Ten) talking about his TARDIS a lot and I can't for the life of me remember if he normally refers to it as 'it' or 'she'.

Anyone help me, please? :-)

(Jack undressing icon to spur your thoughts my way! *g*)

Yes, I've actually managed to tear myself away from my computer long enough to watch some telly :-)

The first of the two-parters. Pretty good stuff.

Just in case there's anyone on my flist who's not already there, [info]fandom_me is hosting an absolutely fascinating discussion here about the quality (or lack thereof) of fanfiction around here, and what could be done about it.

Definitely a subject close to my own heart! :-)
